GM Asks Suppliers to Pull Supply Chains From China, Reuters Says

General Motors Co. has asked thousands of its suppliers to remove Chinese parts from their supply chains as the US carmaker looks to mitigate the risks of geopolitical disruptions, Reuters reported.

The company has told suppliers to find alternatives to China for both raw materials and parts, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter it didn’t identify. The automaker has set a 2027 deadline for some suppliers to completely end their China sourcing ties, it said.
