German Hydraulic Pump Parts Producer Challenges U.S. Duty Rates

BGH Edelstahl Siegen GmbH is challenging new U.S. duty rates on German forged steel fluid end blocks at the U.S. Court of International Trade.

The U.S. recently imposed antidumping and countervailing duties on the German end blocks, which are typically used in the manufacture or service of hydraulic pumps such as those used in the oil and gas industry. The U.S. imported an estimated $17.8 million worth of subject end blocks from Germany in 2018, before the duties were put in place, according to the Commerce Department.
