France will oppose the Mercosur deal at a key meeting in Brussels on Friday, President Emmanuel Macronsaid on social media, as farmers stormed the capital to protest against the trade agreement with the South American bloc.

France opposes the deal as it exposes sensitive sectors essential to France’s food sovereignty, an official in Macron’s office said during a press briefing on Thursday.
