FAA to Extend Haiti Flight Restrictions Until Mid-March

The US Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement Wednesday that it plans to extend a prohibition on US civil aviation operations in certain parts of Haiti until March 12.

The ban applies to flights below 10,000 feet and the renewed notice will publish Thursday, the FAA said.

• The extension of the ban comes after planes flown by US carriers were struck by bullets last month amid a gang war in the Caribbean country
