Agriculture must be part of any trade deal with the EU in order to get an agreement through the U.S. Senate, Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) tells reporters.
EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom doesn’t want agriculture to be part of any deal, Grassley said.
He says he spoke with Malmstrom and told her it doesn’t make sense to negotiate without agriculture on the table, he said.
“Ag is a locomotive that brings along manufacturing and services,” said Grassley.
