Egypt Looks to Boost LNG Storage to Handle Peak Import Demand

Egypt’s EGAS is looking to bring in a floating liquefied natural gas storage unit to help manage more shipments during the country’s peak electricity demand in the summer, according to people familiar with the matter.

Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co., as the state-run company is formally known, is seeking to lease the vessel to either the ports of Ain Sukhna or Damietta from around June to July through the end of September, with the option to extend, said the people, asking not to be identified because they’re not authorized the speak publicly.
