Dow Drops as Tariff Uncertainty Causes Worse-Than-Expected Loss

Dow Inc. shares slumped after the chemical company reported its first quarterly loss in five years as trade and tariff uncertainties weighed on volumes.

Shares dropped as much as 11% in premarket trading. The second-quarter adjusted loss per share of 42 cents was more than twice as large as the 18-cent shortfall analysts expected. Packaging and Specialty Plastics — its largest segment — was weighed down by tariffs as export volumes slowed, according to a statement.
