Dollar Rebound Gets Fresh Fuel as China Weighs Tariff Exemption

The dollar is getting a fresh boost from signs that a tit-for-tat trade war between China and the US might be cooling off.

The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index rallied as much as 0.4% on Friday, as China was said to be considering suspension of its 125% tariff on some US imports. The greenback gained against all of its Group-of-10 peers, and the yen and Swiss franc slumped amid reduced demand for haven assets.
