Applications to fill 2,000 additional officer positions at air, land and sea ports across the U.S. are now being accepted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the agency announced May 1.
“As a result of funding provided in the fiscal year 2014 budget, 44 ports in 18 states will receive additional staffing to enhance security, help reduce wait times and facilitate growing volumes of legitimate goods and travelers that are critical to the health of our nation’s economy,” Customs said in a statement.
