Corning Wins First Round in Fight Over Fiber-Optic Equipment

Corning Optical could get an import ban on rival high-density fiber optic equipment destined for data centers if a U.S. International Trade Commission judge’s findings stand.

  • ITC Judge David Shaw said he has determined that Corning’s patent rights were violated, according to a notice posted on the agency’s website
    • The judge’s full findings are confidential until both sides get a chance to redact confidential information
    • Shaw’s findings are subject to review by the full commission, which is scheduled to complete the investigation by July 23
