Coffee Drops as Trump, Bessent Signal Possible Tariff Cuts

Arabica coffee posted its biggest intraday drop in nearly two months as the Trump administration signaled lower tariffs on the commodity.

Futures for arabica, the premium variety favored across the US, declined by as much as 5.9% to $3.7570 a pound in New York. Trump said “we’re going to lower some tariffs” in a Fox News interviewlate Tuesday when asked about coffee prices. “We’re going to have some coffee come in,” he said.
