CMA CGM Denies Houthi Claim of Attack on a Ship Near Yemen

CMA CGM, the container shipping giant, denied claims by Yemen’s Houthi militants that they struck a vessel as it sailed through the Red Sea.

The militants said they attacked the container ship Koi with missiles late Wednesday. However, an external spokesman for CMA CGM, which chartered it, said no such attack took place.

A company called Oceonix Services Ltd. is listed as manager of the Koi, according to the Equasis international maritime database. Oceonix is a UK-based unit of a JPMorgan Chase & Co. fund.

JPMorgan declined to comment while Oceonix didn’t respond to emailed request for comment, and there ...
