Chinese Roller Bearing Manufacturer Loses U.S. Duty Challenge

Chinese manufacturer and exporter Luoyang Bearing Corp. lost its challenge to U.S. duty levels on certain imports of tapered roller bearings, the U.S. Court of International Trade said.

The U.S. maintains antidumping duties on Chinese tapered roller bearings. The Commerce Department undertook a periodic duty review covering bearings that entered the U.S. between June 2016 and May 2017.

The department determined that Luoyang had failed to prove its independence from the Chinese government, thereby sticking the company’s bearings with the “China-wide” antidumping duty rate of 92.84%. All companies that showed their independence from the government received a separate rate of ...
