Chinese Hardwood Plywood Duties Must Be Revisited Yet Again

The Commerce Department must once again reconsider, and possibly further lower, U.S. duties on some entries of hardwood plywood products from China, the U.S. Court of International Trade said Monday.

The U.S. maintains antidumping duties on hardwood and decorative plywood and certain veneered panels, used by the construction industry to produce wall panels, kitchen cabinets, furniture, and wood flooring. The U.S. imported an estimated $1.12 billion of this plywood in 2016, before the duties were put in place, according to Commerce.
