A number of Chinese companies won lower U.S. duties on certain solar power goods, a federal court affirmed July 25.
The U.S. maintains antidumping duties on Chinese crystalline silicon photovoltaic products, which are solar modules, laminates, and panels. The U.S. imported an estimated $1.5 billion worth of these products from China in 2013, before the duties were put in place, according to the Commerce Department.
Commerce undertook a periodic duty review of these imports, covering products that entered the U.S. between July 2014 and January 2016. The department assigned Changzhou Trina Solar Energy Co. a duty rate of 9.61%. This ...
