CEOs Gain Confidence in US Economic Outlook Despite Iran War

Confidence among chief executive officers of large US companies grew in the first quarter despite global uncertainty and the war in Iran driving up energy prices and rattling markets.

The Business Roundtable’s CEO Economic Outlook index increased nine points to 89, the highest in more than a year, according to a survey released Wednesday. Readings above 50 indicate growth expectations for capital expenditures, sales and hiring in the next six months.
