Carney to Attend Asean Summit as Canada Seeks Trade Deal in 2026

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit in October as the North American country and the regional bloc seek to conclude a free trade agreement next year.

Asean and Canada have agreed to finalize a free trade agreement by the end of 2026, Malaysia’s Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Zafrul Aziz said on Friday.
