Business groups wasted little time raising concerns about the White House’s latest proposal to start reconstructing tariff barriers largely struck down by the Supreme Court in February.
“The proposed Section 301 mechanism risks penalizing legitimate commerce alongside any genuine violations,” International Chamber of Commerce Secretary-General John Denton said in a statement Wednesday, hours after the Trump administration proposal was made public.
