Brazil’s Lula Slams Trump’s Venezuela Attack in New York Times

Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva condemned the US’s military incursion in Venezuela and capture of Nicolas Maduro as a “regrettable chapter” that would erode international law and threatens regional stability, trade as well as increasing the flows of refugees.

“This is the first time that South America has come under direct military attack by the United States, though American forces previously intervened in the region,” Lula wrote in an op-ed published in the New York Times on Sunday.
