Boeing Names Landon Loomis as China Head Before Trade Talks (1)

Boeing Co. has appointed Landon Loomis to lead its operations in China as the American planemaker seeks to win orders from the Asian nation while navigating heightened geopolitical tensions.

Loomis starts in the new role immediately, said a company statement. He previously led Boeing’s operations in Brazil and, prior to joining the company, was a special adviser to then-Vice President Mike Pence. The appointment was first reported by Bloomberg earlier on Thursday.

He also worked for more than five years at the US embassy in Beijing, covering aviation, and speaks Mandarin, according to the internal notice. Loomis takes over ...
