“Retaliation should be concentrated at the source of the problem,” Boeing’s Theodore Austell said at an inter-agency hearing, calling for tariffs on products including airplane assemblies that Airbus imports from Europe. Such assemblies are wings, tails, and fuselages. Austell is vice president, executive of legislative and regulatory affairs at Boeing, which supports tariffs on both finished Airbus airplanes and parts.
