The US International Trade Commission voted to open an investigation into allegations that Advanced Micro Devices violated Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 by importing or selling integrated circuits that infringed patents, according to a Friday news release.
Realtek Semiconductor Corp., based in Taiwan, filed the complaint against AMD on Dec. 12, 2020, then amended it Dec. 23 and supplemented it Jan. 17, the ITC said.
Thecomplaint against the Santa Clara, California-based company covers Realtek’s patented integrated circuits as well as components and products containing them.
