Zurn Industries, Allstate Insurance Settle Asbestos Claims

Zurn Industries LLC and Allstate Insurance Co. have settled a coverage dispute over underlying asbestos litigation.

The US District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania dismissed Zurn’s claims against Allstate in a July 11 order after the parties filed a joint motion to dismiss pursuant to a settlement in May.

• Allstate’s corporate predecessor, Northbrook Insurance Co., issued several umbrella and excess policies to Zurn for periods in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The confidential settlement resolved all of Zurn’s claims under those policies, according to the joint motion
