Vista Equity Starts Bookrunning Debt Deals for Its Own Companies

Vista Equity Partners is taking on a new role: Coordinating and underwriting debt deals for companies it owns, allowing it to collect additional fees as the market for mergers and acquisitions remains muted.

The buyout firm has coordinated and underwritten such transactions for at least four portfolio companies through its capital markets arm, according to a person with knowledge of the matter. They include Avalara Inc., Duck Creek Technologies Inc., Cloud Software Group Inc. and Infoblox Inc. The unit received regulatory approval to broker such deals in June.
