Vans Shoes Knockoff Company Loses Bid to Nix Liberty Mutual Suit

A footwear company accused of infringing on Vans Inc.'s intellectual property lost its bid to toss an insurance dispute with a Liberty Mutual Holding Co. unit.

Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Co.'s allegations that it owed no coverage for the underlying litigation were sufficient for the insurance case to continue, the US District Court for the Central District of California said in a Monday ruling denying a motion to dismiss the suit.
