Trenton Diocese Sues Insurers Over Coverage for Sex Abuse Claims

The Diocese of Trenton is suing its insurers over coverage for sexual abuse claims brought against it under the New Jersey Child Victims Act, months after a judge tossed a lawsuit by one of the carriers, a Chubb Ltd. unit, against the diocese.

The Catholic church has faced an onslaught of litigation in recent years, after many states passed laws waiving the statute of limitations for childhood sexual abuse claims.
