For nearly six decades, the Bacton gas terminal has been at the fulcrum of the UK’s energy supply. A sprawling complex of pipework and silos on the North Sea coast in eastern England, it is the sole entry point for gas from Belgium and the Netherlands, connecting the UK to Europe via a 235-kilometer pipeline.
