Tokio Marine Unit Ends Job Disease Coverage Dispute With Insurer

A Tokio Marine Holdings Inc. unit and another insurer reached a resolution to end a dispute over which carrier should’ve paid first on a $5 million settlement to a worker who alleged lung damage from exposure to chemicals in plastic products.

Texas Mutual Insurance Co. and Tokio Marine’s Philadelphia Indemnity Insurance Co. “reached an agreement to resolve their differences” and are finalizing a deal, according to a Monday notice of settlement in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas. No other details were provided.
