Santander Appoints Wefox’s Huber as Global Head of Insurance

Banco Santander SA has named Peter Huber as its new global head of insurance to replace Armando Baquero, who is exiting the Spanish lender.

Huber joins Spain’s largest bank from insurance-technology firm Wefox, where he was chief insurance officer, and will report to global head of wealth management and insurance Javier Garcia-Carranza, according to an internal memo seen by Bloomberg News. A spokeswoman for the lender confirmed the content of the memo.
