Travelers Cos. units are suing the San Francisco archdiocese over insurance coverage for clergy sexual abuse claims.
Various liability insurance policies spanning from the early 1970s to late 1980s don’t afford coverage for litigation brought under California’s Child Victims Act, which waived the statute of limitations for historic sexual abuse claims, St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Co. and Travelers Casualty & Surety Co. said in a Jan. 16 adversary complaint filed in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California.
