New York Botanical Garden Wins Covid Insurance Bid

The New York Botanical Garden’s insurance bid for pandemic-related losses against Allied World Assurance Co. can move forward since the policy covers Covid-19 as a pollution event, a New York appeals court ruled.

Allied World’s denial of coverage is inappropriate, and the Bronx-based botanical garden sufficiently proved its 250 acres of land with over 1 million living plants need insurance coverage, the New York State Appellate Division of the Supreme Court said Tuesday.
