NCAA Wins Bid to Toss Former Villanova Basketball Player’s Suit

A former Villanova University basketball player’s antitrust suit against the NCAA was brought too late, a New York federal court said in a ruling dismissing the case.

Kris Jenkins’ lawsuit, which alleged that the NCAA and conferences including the Big East and Big Ten engaged in a group boycott to limit name, image, and likeness compensation for himself and other Division I student-athletes, was also barred by a 2017 antitrust class action settlement releasing the NCAA from any future claims, Judge Denise Cote of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said in a Monday order. ...
