Lyft Allowed to Intervene in California Riders’ Insurance Suit

A California federal court granted Lyft Inc.'s request to participate in a proposed class action where riders are seeking to recoup fares tied to allegedly inflated premiums the company paid for state-mandated insurance to address other at-fault drivers who lack coverage.

Lyft can join the lawsuit in a limited capacity seeking to compel arbitration, according to a Tuesday order from the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
