Luxury Homebuilder Resolves Construction Defect Coverage Claims

A luxury homebuilder has resolved its claims against several insurers that covered subcontractors working on a Texas house.

Toll Brothers Inc. notified the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas that it had reached a settlement with the only remaining insurer in the case, a unit of Liberty Mutual Holding Co. Inc, on Nov. 22.

• Toll sued the insurers in May, seeking coverage for legal costs stemming from a dispute over construction defects.
• The homebuilder had already agreed to dismiss or settle its claims against the other insurers named in its lawsuit.
