Loews Insurer Beats Homeware Shop in Trademark Coverage Case

A Loews Corp. insurance unit is off the hook for a home goods store’s defense costs in a trademark dispute, a federal court ruled.

Sparkles Gift & Party Shop Inc. and Stock Your Home LLC failed to show that any of the claims in the underlying suit were covered by the Continental Casualty Co. insurance policies, the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois said in a March 27 order.
