Life Time Gets Covid Insurance Suit Remanded to State Court

Fitness club operator Life Time Inc. won a ruling to send its more than $200 million coronavirus-related business interruption insurance lawsuit to a preferred Minnesota state court from a federal venue.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, where Zurich American Insurance Co. had moved the case last year shortly after it was filed, held Thursday that it lacked jurisdiction.

Zurich argued that Life Time wrongly added a joint venture-owned gym as a plaintiff to keep the fight out of a federal venue.
