A California federal court held that it lacks jurisdiction over an insurance coverage dispute between a Markel Group Inc. unit and the indicted co-founders of a now-defunct medical testing biotech startup, and ended the case.
Evanston Insurance Co.'s amended allegations didn’t show that the co-founders, who now live abroad, were domiciled in California when the carrier filed suit in 2024, the US District Court for the Northern District of California said in a Tuesday order.
The court’s decision finalized its December finding that it likely lacked jurisdiction over the matter.
