Insurers Beat Meta in Forum Fight Over Social Media Lawsuits

A California federal judge sent a dispute between Meta Platforms Inc. and its insurers over coverage for social media litigation back to Delaware state court, where two Hartford Insurance Group Inc. units first filed suit.

Meta had no valid basis for removing the case to federal court, and the Delaware Superior Court can resolve the social media giant’s pending motions to dismiss or pause the suit, Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers of the US District Court for the Northern District of California said in a Tuesday order granting insurers’ motion to remand.
