Insurer Wins Ruling to Avoid Parkinson’s Drug Antitrust Suit

An Old Republic International Corp. insurance unit is off the hook for a pharmaceutical company’s costs in an antitrust case brought by competitors over a Parkinson’s disease treatment.

The suit against Supernus Pharmaceuticals Inc. isn’t covered because it doesn’t assert “securities claims” as defined in the directors and officers insurance policy issued by Old Republic Insurance Co., the US District Court for the District of Maryland said in a Tuesday order dismissing the coverage dispute.
