An Illinois wholesale bakery was hit with a suit from an insurer seeking to dodge the costs of a proposed class action alleging the bakery violated the state’s landmark Biometric Information Privacy Act.
Talerico-Martin Bakery used biometric scanning technology to track employees’ clock-in and clock-out times in violation of BIPA, the underlying suit alleged.
