A Tacoma, Wash.-based law firm can’t sue its cyber insurance claim administrator—as if it were an insurer—for a $1.5 million loss stemming from a wire transfer to hackers, Cowbell Cyber Inc. and Spinnaker Insurance Co. told a Washington federal court.
Spinnaker also had no duty to indemnify Connelly Law Offices PLLC for the loss, the insurance companies said in their partial motion to dismiss filed Monday in the US District Court for the Western District of Washington.
