Insurance Agent Race Discrimination Suit Against Carriers Tossed

A Maryland federal court dismissed an insurance agent’s racial discrimination suit against several Erie Indemnity Co. units but will allow her to amend and refile her federal claim.

Two state law claims were dismissed entirely under the US District Court for the District of Maryland’s Monday order, allowing the Maryland Insurance Administration to exercise its primary jurisdiction.
