Illinois Receiver Appeals Dismissal of Insurer From Hack Suit

An Illinois office handling the estates of insolvent or troubled insurance companies is asking a federal appeals court to review whether a Hartford Insurance Group Inc. unit owes coverage for a 2021 hack.

The Office of the Special Deputy Receiver filed a notice of its appeal to the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit on Monday, after losing its bid for coverage of the hack that resulted in a nearly $7 million transfer.
