Humana Taps Finance Industry Veteran to Replace CFO Diamond (1)

Humana Inc.named Celeste Mellet to be its next chief financial officer, tapping an executive from outside the health-care industry to replace Susan Diamond next year.

Mellet, 48, is CFO of Global Infrastructure Partners, a fund manager recently acquired by BlackRock Inc., Humana said Tuesday in a statement. She’ll replace Diamond, Humana’s CFO since 2021, starting Jan. 11.

It’s the biggest personnel move at the Medicare-insurer since Jim Rechtin took over as CEO in July. He’s trying to revive Humana amid massive share losses, with elevated medical costs and stricter federal payment policies battering the company’s earnings.
