Hartford Unit Must Pay Tech Consultant’s Legal Costs Over Hack

A Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. insurance unit must cover legal defense costs for a technology consulting company dealing with charges incurred as a result of a hack, a federal court ruled.

The invoice sent to Advaiya Solutions Inc. by a vendor qualified as a claim under the Hartford Fire Insurance Co. enterprise liability policy, the US District Court for the Western District of Washington said in a Sept. 20 order.
