Hartford Insurer Off the Hook for Construction Firm Wage Suits

A Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. insurer isn’t required to cover costs of class action litigation alleging a construction company underpaid its workers, a federal appeals court ruled.

A policy carve-out for claims related to wage and hour violations barred coverage for the underlying lawsuits, Judge D. Brooks Smith of the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit said in a Thursday opinion affirming a lower court ruling.
