Geico’s 2 Million Customers Class Certified in Overcharge Suit

About 2 million Geico customers won their bid to be certified as a class in their claims that the Berkshire Hathaway Inc. subsidiary overcharged for car insurance during the pandemic.

The class consists of any California resident who bought a Geico car, motorcycle, or recreational vehicle policy covering any period since March 2020.

Geico argued that differences among policyholders, the varieties of damages sought, and inconsistent policy periods failed to constitute a class.
