Geico Customers Win Class Certification in New York Coverage Suit

A New York federal court certified a consumer class alleging Geico General Insurance Co. breached insurance contracts by improperly withholding some parts of auto coverage.

The class, certified by Judge Dora Irizarry of the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York on Saturday, consists of policyholders earning “actual wages” of more than $2000 per month who say Geico wrongly calculated their insurance benefits for injuries stemming from car accidents.
