Frontier Gets Partial Insurance Win on Copyright Litigation

Insurers must pay Frontier Communications Holdings Inc.'s defense costs in now-settled litigation alleging the telecommunications company failed to prevent customers using its internet services from violating record companies’ copyrights.

However, some claims against Frontier brought by movie studios weren’t covered under a 2020-2021 liability policy because the movie claims were first made in a letter predating the policy period, the Delaware Superior Court said in a ruling unsealed this week.
