Electronic Arts Sued by Insurer Over Video Game Addiction Claims

A Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. unit sued Electronic Arts Inc., seeking a court declaration that it has no duty to cover claims alleging the video maker designed its Battlefield series with addictive features.

Coverage for the underlying suit is barred by several provisions, including those excluding claims alleging expected or intended injury, personal and advertising injury, and violations of laws regulating information distribution, National Casualty Co. said in a complaint filed Jan. 2 in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas.
